Yakuza Kiwami 3: Dark Ties REVEALED! 40 Minutes You WON'T Believe!
Gaming News 16 January 2026

Alright, Yakuza fans, buckle up! It looks like Sega’s dropping a massive gameplay dump for the highly anticipated "Yakuza Kiwami 3 + Dark Ties," and we're talking *minutes*. Forty of them, to be exact. That's a significant chunk of playtime to sink your teeth into before the game actually launches on February 11th. For those not in the know, this isn't just your standard re-release; it's a full-blown enhanced remake of Yakuza 3, complete with a brand-new "Dark Ties" content addition that promises to deepen the already intricate narrative.

Yakuza Kiwami 3: Dark Ties REVEALED! 40 Minutes Yo...

The buzz around this title has been steadily growing, and frankly, rightfully so. Yakuza 3, while a fantastic entry in the series, always felt a *little* rough around the edges compared to its siblings. This Kiwami treatment is exactly what it needed. We're talking updated visuals, refined combat mechanics, and, of course, that fresh "Dark Ties" storyline. Sega hasn't been super forthcoming with specific details about "Dark Ties" yet, but all the teasers point towards a darker, grittier side of Kiryu's world, exploring the complex web of relationships and betrayals that defined his life. And honestly, I'm here for it. Give me all the moral ambiguity and backstabbing drama you got!

Now, 40 minutes of gameplay is nothing to sneeze at. It gives us a solid chance to really see how the game is shaping up. I'm personally most interested in seeing the improvements to the combat. Yakuza combat has always been a satisfying blend of brawling and over-the-top special moves, but some of the earlier titles could feel a little clunky at times. Hopefully, Kiwami 3 irons out those wrinkles and delivers a smoother, more responsive fighting experience.

The game is slated to launch on a pretty wide range of platforms: PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S, and even…Nintendo Switch 2? That last one is interesting. While the Switch has proven it can handle demanding games, the "2" implies this remake might be optimized for Nintendo's rumored next-gen console. Color me intrigued. This multi-platform approach means more people get to experience Kiryu's saga, and that's always a good thing.

For those already drooling at the prospect of stepping back into Kiryu's shoes (or trying them on for the first time!), you can head over to Steam and add "Yakuza Kiwami 3 + Dark Ties" to your wishlist. Just follow this link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3937550/Yakuza_Kiwami_3__Dark_Ties/. February 11th can't come soon enough! I'll definitely be grabbing this one to play, and you can expect a full review shortly after launch. Until then, keep your eyes peeled for that gameplay footage, and let the anticipation build!
