Hold on to your popcorn, Horror fans! Darren Lynn Bousman, the man who brought us nightmares with "Saw II" and the Chris Rock-led "Spiral," is back. This time, he's unleashing a new thriller upon us titled "Twisted," and the trailer just dropped. Trust me, it looks… intense.
Twisted Trailer Drops! Secrets, Lies, and Betrayal...
The premise alone is enough to make your skin crawl. We've got a real estate con artist – someone who probably deserves a bit of karma anyway, let's be honest – whose latest scheme goes horribly, horribly wrong. Instead of a fat commission check, she ends up captured by a surgeon with a decidedly *unhealthy* interest in her. Think less "Grey's Anatomy," more "hostel with a scalpel." The trailer hints at a nightmarish ordeal where she has to fight tooth and nail, or maybe…something else entirely, to survive.
Lauren LaVera, who's been making waves in the Horror scene lately, stars as the unfortunate con artist. And she's got a seriously impressive supporting cast backing her up. We're talking Djimon Hounsou, who always brings a gravitas to his roles, Mia Healey, the ever-reliable Neal McDonough (he's great at playing the villain, isn’t he?), and the always-welcome Alicia Witt. This cast alone suggests they’re aiming for a higher caliber of horror, something beyond just cheap jump scares.
Mark Burg, Lee Nelson, and David Tish are producing, so you know the production value will be there. The screenplay is the work of Jonathan Bernstein and James Greer. Bousman's direction, coupled with that writing team, should deliver a tightly wound and suspenseful ride. I'm personally hoping for something a bit more clever than just gore for gore's sake, given Bousman's past work – which, admittedly, has varied in quality.
So, when can you subject yourself to this cinematic torture? "Twisted" will be available for digital purchase or rental on February 6, 2026. Mark your calendars, horror hounds! In the meantime, definitely check out the trailer. Just maybe not right before bedtime. I made that mistake once, and I ended up dreaming about…well, let's just say it involved power tools and a very unfortunate pineapple.
Seriously though, the trailer is worth a watch. It sets a dark and unsettling tone, and LaVera looks like she's giving it her all. Here's hoping "Twisted" lives up to the hype and delivers a truly twisted, and memorable, horror experience.
