Super Mario World's Secret ENDING?! What They Found is SHOCKING!
Gaming News 15 January 2026

Thirty-five years. Think about that for a second. Thirty-five years after its release, *Super Mario World* – a game many of us practically wore out our SNES cartridges playing – still has secrets to give up. The latest? Well, it's a doozy, and it's definitely not for the faint of heart. Prepare yourselves, folks, because it involves Yoshi eating Princess Peach. Yes, you read that right.

Super Mario World's Secret ENDING?! What They Foun...

The discovery, showcased by the always-reliable Supper Mario Broth on X (formerly Twitter, naturally), reveals a bizarre alternate "ending" achievable only through some serious glitch exploitation. I mean, we're not talking about a simple wall clip here. This requires some truly dedicated manipulation of the game's code. And the result? Let's just say it's a far cry from the typical "Mario saves the princess" fanfare we're used to.

So, how does one engineer this grim finale? It all comes down to bringing Yoshi into the final Bowser battle – something the game typically prevents. This involves some fancy footwork with the reserve item box, the place where you stash your extra power-ups like the Cape Feather or trusty mushrooms. Once you've got Yoshi in the final fight, the real trickery begins. Apparently, the key is timing Yoshi's attempt to eat a falling mushroom *perfectly*, so that instead of a power-up, he ends up chowing down on the Princess herself.

I know, it sounds completely bonkers. But the video doesn't lie. And the result is… well, unsettling. With Peach apparently digested, the traditional ending sequence simply fails to launch. Instead, Mario and Yoshi are left locked in a silent, eternal standoff. A blank stare into the digital abyss. Imagine playing through the entire game, finally defeating Bowser, only to be greeted by *that*. Talk about a mood killer.

Supper Mario Broth has a history of uncovering weird and wonderful things hidden within Nintendo's games. I remember just last September when they highlighted the fact that Toad NPCs could apparently steal cars in *Mario Kart World*! Honestly, at this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they found out you could make Luigi fly by feeding him a corrupted star bit.

Speaking of Yoshi, fans will be happy to know that the green dino is slated to star in his own game for the Switch 2 later this year! Nintendo unveiled *Yoshi and the Mysterious Book* during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, marking the first Yoshi-led title since 2019's *Yoshi's Crafted World*. So, you know, there's some happy news to balance out the whole "Yoshi eats Peach" thing. And until then, *Super Mario World* is still available on both the Switch and Switch 2 through a Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Go give it a try... if you dare.
