Innovative Artists, a significant agency in Hollywood, confirmed the news to Deadline. While representatives acknowledged Busfield was no longer a client, they declined to offer any further details. Busfield had been with IA for several years; it's safe to say this is a significant blow to his professional representation as he faces these serious accusations.

As previously reported, Busfield turned himself in to Albuquerque police on January 13th, making a cross-country drive from the East Coast to New Mexico. The surrender followed the issuance of an arrest warrant and the subsequent involvement of U.S. Marshals. It paints a picture of a situation escalating rapidly.

During his Wednesday afternoon court appearance, Busfield, 68, appeared via video link wearing an orange jumpsuit. He's currently being held at the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center. While many anticipated a "not guilty" plea – especially after his public declaration of innocence earlier in the week – Busfield actually entered no plea at all.

In a video released just before his surrender, Busfield stated firmly, "I did not do anything to those little boys." However, he now faces potentially more than a decade behind bars if convicted of the felony charges involving two boys from "The Cleaning Lady." His defense team, led by Larry Stein, will be back in court within five business days for a hearing addressing a pre-trial detention motion filed by the DA's office.

District Attorney Sam Bergman's office argues strongly that "no conditions of release will reasonably protect the safety of any other person or the community." This is a key point: the prosecution clearly sees Busfield as a potential threat, warranting continued detention pending trial.

Interestingly, Busfield claims the allegations stem from a personal vendetta. According to the arrest warrant, Busfield told APD Officer Marvin Brown in a November 2025 phone interview that "Cleaning Lady" lead actress Elodie Yung informed him in late 2024 that the mother of the two boys – referred to as SL and VL in the warrant – sought revenge on him for not bringing her kids back for the final season. It's a dramatic claim that will undoubtedly play a significant role in his defense.

Beyond the charges concerning the former "Cleaning Lady" child actors, Busfield has also faced previous sexual assault allegations, dating back to 1994 and 2012. While he was never formally charged in those cases, the actor was ordered to pay $150,000 in... (Further details on those previous allegations and the outcome are still emerging.) The legal battles are just beginning, and the court of public opinion is already in full swing.
