Deadpool Invades Marvel Rivals Season 6?! You Won't Believe His Role!
Gaming News 13 January 2026

Alright, folks, buckle up, because the Merc with a Mouth is officially crashing the Marvel Rivals party! Following weeks of whispers and winks, NetEase finally confirmed what we all pretty much knew was coming at The Game Awards: Deadpool is joining the hero shooter's roster. The big question, of course, wasn't *if* he'd appear, but *how* they'd manage to cram all that Deadpool-ness – the katanas, the pistols, the fourth-wall breaks – into a cohesive gameplay package. Color me intrigued.

Deadpool Invades Marvel Rivals Season 6?! You Won'...

And the answer? Well, it's wonderfully bonkers. As revealed in the delightfully chaotic trailer, Deadpool isn't just *one* hero; he's three! He can switch on the fly between Duelist, Strategist, and Vanguard roles. Think of it like this: one minute he's slicing and dicing with a sword projectile (Duelist), the next he's popping out a spherical shield to soak up damage (Vanguard), and then he's... healing allies with bullets and katana strikes (Strategist)? Yeah, it's wild. But honestly, for Deadpool, it just *works*.

It's not just the role-swapping that makes this version of Wade Wilson feel unique. His abilities are pure, unadulterated chaos. He can level up his skills mid-combat, diving into an in-game menu to choose upgrades. One ability punishes enemies for missing their shots (serves 'em right!), while another lets him snap selfies with his defeated foes. And, in a move that has to be seen to be believed, the trailer shows him using photo mode to become momentarily invincible, absorbing Magneto's Ultimate ability with, ahem, his backside. I'm not even sure how that's balanced, but I'm here for it.

Season six isn't *just* about Deadpool though, thankfully. A whole host of other improvements are coming down the pipeline. We're getting a brand new map, the "Museum of Contemplation," dropping on January 29th. Times Square, the game's non-combat hangout spot, is getting a photo mode (Deadpool approves, I'm sure) and "The Clobberin' Club," which is essentially a dueling arena where you can broadcast your matches for all of Times Square to see. Pretty cool.

Hero proficiency is also getting a major overhaul, expanding the tiers to include more hero-specific rewards, like in-game currency and animated character avatars. That should give players a little extra incentive to really master their favorite heroes. And speaking of heroes, team-up dynamics are getting a shakeup too. Say goodbye to Peni and Rocket's synergy, and Spider-Man and Human Torch's connection. However, Peni and Spidey are getting a new web bomb synergy, while Deadpool's teaming up with... Jeff the Land Shark? Yep. Expect a spinning toy that heals allies and plasters enemies' screens with animated Deadpools. Because why not?

A full rundown of all the Season 6 changes is available in the announcement video – definitely worth a watch. In the meantime, I'm already bracing myself for the sheer pandemonium that Deadpool is about to unleash on Marvel Rivals. It's going to be a wild ride.
