Styx is Back! FREE Blades of Greed Demo You HAVE to Play!
Gaming News 13 January 2026
Here's a natural news article about the "Styx: Blades of Greed" demo:

Goblin stealth fans, rejoice! The shadows are calling, and they're bringing a free appetizer with them. That's right, a demo for the upcoming "Styx: Blades of Greed" has just dropped, giving us a chance to dip our toes (or claws, I suppose) into the murky world of our favorite sarcastic goblin assassin before committing to the full feast.

The demo, currently skulking exclusively on Steam, apparently offers a solid hour of gameplay. From what I gather, based on earlier previews, it probably kicks off around The Wall, the impressively vertical environment we’ve already seen a bit of. That should be plenty of time to get a feel for the new mechanics, the level design, and most importantly, Styx's delightfully grumpy personality. I’m personally keen to see how the verticality plays out; that glider he's got looks pretty interesting.

Now, before you PlayStation and Xbox owners start sharpening your daggers in frustration, don't worry. While the demo is a Steam exclusive, "Styx: Blades of Greed" itself is slated for a multi-platform release on February 19th. So, mark your calendars! You'll be able to get your stealth on then, whether you prefer your gaming on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, or the Epic Games Store. Cyanide, the developers behind this sneaky adventure, has also confirmed that your progress in the demo *will* carry over to the full game if you decide to purchase it. That's always a welcome feature, saving us precious time and effort.

And speaking of Cyanide, they've also dropped a brand new trailer featuring Styx himself. This isn't just your typical gameplay montage, mind you. Styx actually takes the time to explain his fondness for Quartz (presumably a key resource in the game) and show off some of his new gadgets, most notably that aforementioned glider. Seriously, that thing looks like a game-changer for navigating those sprawling, vertical environments. It's a nice touch to get the lore from the green guy himself, rather than just a press release.

For those new to the Styx universe, "Blades of Greed" follows the events of "Styx: Shards of Darkness." However, Cyanide is reassuring us that you don’t need to have played the previous games to jump right in. That said, I'd personally recommend checking out "Shards of Darkness" if you have the chance. It's a solid stealth title in its own right, and it will give you a deeper appreciation for Styx’s backstory and his… unique charm. Either way, the demo is a perfect opportunity to see if "Blades of Greed" is your kind of poison. Happy sneaking!
