Torremolinos is about to get a serious dose of Blues-rock energy tonight, as El Trío del Saco takes the stage at Clarence Jazz Club. This isn't just another gig; it's a chance to see a band with a legacy woven into the very fabric of the Malaga music scene.
Clarence ROCKED! Trio del Saco's Blues Show Left F...
Born way back in 1996 in La Estación de Cártama, El Trío del Saco has quietly become a local legend over nearly three decades. Initially conceived as a trio by drummer Miguelo Batún, guitarist/vocalist David Quintero, and bassist Ángel Quintero, they cleverly expanded their ranks over time. The arrival of keyboardist Rafael Linero in the summer of '99 hilariously turned the "trio" into a quartet. Just when you thought they were done tinkering, percussionist Aurelio Vargas joined the party, cementing their status as a playful, dynamic quintet. I remember hearing whispers about them back then, even before I moved here – tales of their raw energy and authentic sound.
And while they may have started as a humble trio, today, they're a powerful four-piece, ready to unleash their signature blend of blues and rock on Clarence's intimate stage. The band's star has definitely been rising in recent years. Their performances at major events like the Velez-Malaga Blues Festival and headlining the Ceuta Blues Festival have earned them critical acclaim and a devoted following. Word on the street is they're even in talks with record labels, so this might be your last chance to catch them in such an intimate setting before they really take off.
Clarence Jazz Club, located at Calle Danza Invisible, 8, in Torremolinos, provides the perfect backdrop for El Trío del Saco's electrifying performance. Think classic New York jazz club vibe, but with a distinctly Andalusian twist. It's the ideal spot to lose yourself in the music and soak up the atmosphere.
Tickets are priced at €15, but you can snag them for €12 if you book in advance through the venue's website. Alternatively, you can take your chances at the door. Either way, if you're a fan of classic rock, blues, and live music that truly connects with its audience, you won't want to miss this. I've seen them play before, and trust me, they don't disappoint. It's going to be a night to remember.
