Shell Turcas Shakeup! Top Execs Exit - What's Next...

Oğuz Uçanlar has officially taken the reins as the new CEO of Shell & Turcas, effective January 1, 2026. He's stepping into some pretty big shoes. This appointment marks a new chapter for the company, and Uçanlar's diverse background certainly suggests he's prepared for the challenges ahead. His career began stateside at Booz-Allen-Hamilton, where he advised C-suite executives of multinational corporations across a broad spectrum of industries, including retail, automotive, tech, and financial services. Think mergers, operational efficiency, the whole nine yards. Seems like a solid foundation.

Before landing at Shell & Turcas, Uçanlar spent time managing his own ventures in the US retail and construction sectors. Following his return to Turkey, he held senior positions at Bain & Company and Anadolu Group. Perhaps most notably, he served as CEO of McDonald's Turkey, steering the iconic brand through a comprehensive restructuring. More recently, he was CEO of Adel & Faber Castell, where he spearheaded an organizational transformation focused on efficiency and expanded the customer portfolio to include international brands. Under his leadership, the company achieved a record-breaking financial performance in its 56-year history in Turkey. All that experience definitely adds up.

Meanwhile, Emre Turanlı, who has served as CEO since 2020 and was the company’s first Turkish CEO, is moving into a new role as Senior Vice President of Shell Mobility, Global Marketing, and Licensed Markets, also starting January 1, 2026. A pretty significant promotion if you ask me! Turanlı will be responsible for managing Shell's global marketing strategies within the context of its global mobility operations. We're talking over 47,000 stations in more than 70 countries and a staggering 33 million customers daily. That’s a lot of responsibility. He’ll also oversee 60 licensed markets, including major players in the fuel market like Australia, Brazil, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Argentina.

And that’s not all. Turanlı will also serve as Chairman of the Board of Shell Brands International AG. It’s a testament to his leadership and the company’s confidence in his abilities. It's always fascinating to see how these leadership changes play out and how they ultimately impact a company’s direction. We'll be watching closely to see what Uçanlar and Turanlı do in their new roles.
