Alright, dragon aficionados and RPG fanatics, listen up! Evolution Game Studio just dropped the demo launch trailer for their upcoming title, "Dragon Khan," and if the trailer is anything to go by, we're in for a wild ride. As someone who's always had a soft spot for mythical creatures and sprawling fantasy worlds, this one's definitely caught my eye.
Dragon Khan: Unleash the Fury! See the Explosive D...
The premise is simple enough, but undeniably appealing: you play as Botu, a winged green dragon tasked with finding the titular Dragon Khan. Sounds epic, right? And it gets better. This isn't some simple "fly from point A to point B" affair. "Dragon Khan" is being billed as a third-person action hack-and-slash RPG. Think aerial combat meets classic RPG elements, all wrapped up in a dragon-dominated realm currently experiencing an invasion. The trailer showcases some pretty slick looking elemental powers at Botu's command, so expect some serious fire-breathing and probably a few ice blasts thrown in for good measure.
What I'm particularly curious about is the "hack-and-slash" aspect. How fluid is the combat? How much customization will we have with Botu's abilities? These are the questions swirling in my mind after watching the trailer. There's definitely a "Panzer Dragoon" vibe to some of the aerial movement, but with a much more in-depth combat system. That's a good thing, in my book.
The visuals, from what we can see in the trailer, are pretty impressive, especially for an indie title. The dragon designs are solid, the environments look vast and detailed, and the spell effects pack a punch. Of course, the proof will be in the playing, and that's where the demo comes in. Evolution Game Studio is smartly offering a playable demo on Steam, allowing players to get hands-on with the game and see if it lives up to the hype. Smart move!
For those of you itching to spread your wings and take to the skies, "Dragon Khan" is slated for release on PC (Steam). So, if you're looking for a new RPG to sink your teeth (or claws) into, and the idea of playing as a fire-breathing dragon appeals to you, be sure to check out the demo. I know I will be. I'll be sure to share my thoughts once I've had a chance to explore Botu's world. Until then, keep an eye on Steam and get ready to soar!
