Minneapolis Shooting: ICE Agent Kills Woman - SHOCKING Video!
Current Affairs 08 January 2026

Minneapolis is on edge tonight after an ICE agent fatally shot a woman on Wednesday, sparking outrage and escalating an already tense situation between Minnesota and the federal government. The shooting, caught on video and widely circulated online, has ignited protests across the city and drawn sharp criticism from local officials.

Minneapolis Shooting: ICE Agent Kills Woman - SHOC...

The incident took place at the intersection of East 34th Street and Portland Avenue, an area known for past clashes between law enforcement and demonstrators. According to reports and the disturbing video footage, ICE agents approached a dark SUV that was stopped on a snow-covered street. The video, which I've watched multiple times now, is difficult to watch. You see an agent approach the vehicle, and the situation escalates rapidly.

As the agent attempted to open the SUV's door, the driver, later identified as 37-year-old Renee Good by her family, put the vehicle in reverse, appearing to try and escape. The ICE agent then drew his weapon and fired three shots. The SUV sped off, subsequently crashing into two parked cars. Good later died from her injuries.

The response from Washington has been swift and, predictably, divisive. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem defended the agent's actions, alleging that Good was "using a vehicle to try to kill an officer and his colleagues." She even went as far as to call the incident "an act of domestic terrorism," adding that the officer acted "quickly and defensively." Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin echoed this sentiment, claiming Good attempted "to run over" the agents, stating they were conducting "targeted operations" when citizens obstructed their vehicles.

However, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey has vehemently disputed the DHS’s narrative. In a fiery press conference, Frey declared, "Having seen the video myself, I want to tell everybody directly that is bulls**t." He accused the agent of "recklessly using (his) power" and issued a direct and expletive-laden challenge to ICE: "To ICE: get the f**k out of Minneapolis," he stated bluntly. "We do not want you here. Your stated reason for being in this city is to create some kind of safety, and you are doing exactly the opposite." It's rare to see a mayor speak so frankly, but it reflects the deep anger felt in Minneapolis right now.

The shooting has triggered widespread protests, with many demanding justice for Renee Good and an end to ICE operations in the city. Governor Tim Walz has called for calm, deploying the Minnesota National Guard in anticipation of potential unrest. He's also asked federal agents to stand down, further escalating the tension between the state and federal authorities. This story is far from over, and the coming days will be crucial in determining the future of law enforcement and immigration policy in Minneapolis – and perhaps the nation.
