Istanbul, Türkiye – The Turkish automotive market witnessed a banner year in 2025, and at the top of the sales charts sat Renault. The French automaker, through its local subsidiary MAİS, achieved a record-breaking 144,331 vehicles sold, marking its highest-ever sales figure in the country. It's quite a feat, especially considering the global supply chain issues that have plagued the industry in recent years.

Renault Clio Dominates Turkey in 2025?! The Shocki...

Renault's success wasn't just about overall numbers; the brand also snagged the top spot in both the total market and the passenger car market with a significant 10.5% market share. This represents substantial growth for Renault in the region. But which models drove this impressive performance?

The Renault Clio, a long-time favorite in Türkiye, reigned supreme as the best-selling car of 2025, racking up an impressive 51,717 units sold. Hot on its heels was the Renault Megane Sedan, securing second place with 48,099 sales. Meanwhile, Dacia, also part of the Renault Group, saw its Sandero Stepway dominate the B-SUV segment, selling 23,699 units and outperforming its competitors. This really highlights the strength and breadth of Renault's portfolio in catering to different segments of the Turkish car buyer.

MAİS A.Ş. Chairman and General Manager Bahaettin Tatoğlu expressed immense pride in the company's achievements. "We are extremely proud of our achievements in 2025," he stated. "We not only became the best-selling brand but also made a significant contribution to the automotive industry with these sales figures." Tatoğlu emphasized that this success was not solely attributed to sales volume but rather to the company's brand and product strategies, customer-centric approach, and robust after-sales network. He further highlighted the balanced product range, strong authorized dealer network, and the advantages of local production as key factors contributing to sustainable growth. It's clear that Renault sees its local production capabilities as a major advantage in the competitive Turkish market.

It’s worth noting that MAİS also received over 20 awards in various fields in 2025, further solidifying its accomplishments. Looking ahead, Tatoğlu affirmed the company's commitment to continued growth and its ambition to remain the most preferred brand in 2026. It’ll be interesting to see if Renault can maintain this momentum in the face of increasing competition and evolving consumer preferences. The Turkish automotive market is certainly one to watch.
