St. Brown SHOCKS Fans! Praises Campbell After Epic Win - What's Next?!

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, basking in the glow of his LFG Player of the Game award courtesy of Tom Brady himself, didn't hesitate to throw his full support behind head coach Dan Campbell after Sunday's season-ending win against the Chicago Bears. Let's be honest, "The Sun God" was radiant after that win.

St. Brown SHOCKS Fans! Praises Campbell After Epic...

While Campbell's job security wasn't even a question in most circles, St. Brown's emphatic endorsement heading into 2026 felt significant. "I think Dan's one of the best leaders that I've ever been around in my life, whether it's a coach or not," St. Brown stated plainly. "His ability to rally men...these are grown men who have families that he's talking to, and to rally all of us together, I think he's one of the best at that. I wouldn't want to be playing for any other coach. I love Dan." Strong words, indeed. You can tell St. Brown really believes what he's saying.

The Lions' narrow 19-16 victory pushed their final record to 9-8, a winning season to be sure, but ultimately one that fell short of the playoff aspirations many held for them. That late-season slide, a three-game losing streak, proved fatal, marking the first time since 2022 that Detroit will be watching the playoffs from home. A tough pill to swallow considering they roared to the NFC Championship Game in 2023 and were the conference's top seed at one point in 2024.

Entering 2026, the Lions, with the additions they made, had legitimate Super Bowl hopes. And while Detroit won't be hoisting the Lombardi Trophy this year, St. Brown clearly sees the value in finishing strong and setting the tone for next season. As a Lions fan, I'm hoping this is true!

"It meant everything, just to be out here with the guys and to do it one more time," St. Brown told Brady during the post-game interview. "Obviously, we can't make the playoffs anymore. We knew that coming in. Just to be out here and play for one another, I think that was the biggest thing. That's what Campbell preached all week to us, is what does this game of football mean to you, and what's your significance? I think, for us, it's just the guys beside us, doing it one more time, the sport that we love, a kids' game and to go out here and play ball." It's that kind of attitude that will keep the team moving forward.

While St. Brown expressed gratitude for the opportunity to play, it's undeniable that the Lions are incredibly lucky to have him. He delivered a vintage performance on Sunday, racking up 11 receptions for a whopping 139 yards. Think about it: 11 receptions!

With just 42 seconds left on the clock, St. Brown's clutch 26-yard reception over the middle, transforming a Jared Goff pass into a game-changing play, put the Lions in scoring position at the Bears' 26-yard line. This allowed them to bleed the clock down before Jake Bates sealed the deal with a 42-yard field goal as time expired. Talk about clutch!

Despite nursing knee and ankle issues that landed him on the injury report this week, St. Brown, who has only missed a mere two games in his entire NFL career, made it abundantly clear to Brady that sitting out Week 18 was simply not an option. "For me, it's being available. That's the biggest thing for my teammates," he emphasized. "At the end of the day, your availability is your best ability. To be out here with the guys, no matter if we're undefeated or if we haven't won a game all year, I want to be out there every week for my guy..." That kind of dedication is exactly what you want to hear from your star wide receiver.
