Costa Blanca Shines! Weekend Rhythms Sweep La Nucia, Alfaz & Albir!
Current Affairs 07 December 2025

As December settles in, bringing a crispness to the air along the Costa Blanca, the weekend forecast calls for one thing: music! La Nucia, Alfaz del Pi, and Albir are gearing up for a vibrant few days packed with live performances and cultural events, offering a little something for everyone looking to soak up the local scene. I, for one, am definitely ready for a dose of festive cheer.

Costa Blanca Shines! Weekend Rhythms Sweep La Nuci...

Kicking things off in style is Alfaz del Pi, where the COMM is hosting a flamenco night. Think passionate rhythms, fiery footwork, and raw emotion – the real deal. The performance, running from 8 pm to 10 pm, promises an authentic cultural experience, and at just €12 a ticket, it's a pretty accessible escape into the heart of Spanish tradition. It's happening at Camino de Pincho, so expect an intimate setting too.

Saturday keeps the good times rolling. If you're in Albir, make sure you head to The Irish Tavern where Mick the Flute is making a return at 7 pm. This guy is a local favorite, and for good reason. He brings a real energy to his contemporary Irish tunes, and the best part? It's a free show! Expect a lively atmosphere and maybe even a pint or two being raised in celebration.

For a more refined experience, the Casa de Cultura in Alfaz del Pi is presenting an evening of opera and zarzuela. From 8 pm to 10:30 pm, you can immerse yourself in the elegance of classical music for €15. The Casa de Cultura itself is a beautiful venue, adding to the sophisticated ambiance. It's worth checking out just for the architecture alone, honestly.

Sunday morning offers another opportunity for classical music lovers. The Albir Social Centre is hosting an opera recital from 11 am to 1 pm, costing €12. Picture this: sunshine streaming in, beautiful melodies filling the air – a pretty perfect way to ease into the final day of the weekend. A much more refined start to the day than my usual Sunday morning routine of coffee and cleaning!

But don't think the weekend ends on a mellow note! Strange Brew is back at Overdrive Rock Cafe on Sunday evening, bringing their electric energy and nostalgic sound from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. This is another free show, so it's a fantastic way to round off the weekend with a bit of rock and roll. Overdrive is always a good time.

And the festive fun doesn't stop there! Looking ahead, Overdrive Rock Cafe is also hosting EMM on Thursday, December 18th, with another free live performance from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. It looks like the Costa Blanca is determined to keep the rhythm alive throughout December!
