Göztepe Shatters the Mold!

Under the steady hand of manager Stanimir Stoilov, who guided the team to promotion from the 1st League, Göztepe have demonstrated consistent improvement. The Kasımpaşa victory not only secured three valuable points but also broke a four-match away winless streak, marking their first away triumph of the year and a crucial step in their quest for European qualification.

With six wins from their opening

With six wins from their opening twelve league matches, Göztepe now sit comfortably with 22 points, firmly in contention for a coveted European spot. The team's success can be largely attributed to the prolific form of Brazilian striker Juan. The 23-year-old has been instrumental in Göztepe's recent run of form, scoring crucial goals in their last three victories.

Juan's brace against Kasımpaşa, his first away goals of the season, proved decisive. Previously, his goals had only come at home, securing 1-0 wins against RAMS Başakşehir and Gençlerbirliği. His contributions have earned Göztepe a vital nine points in those three matches, showcasing his growing importance to the team. Notably, Göztepe have maintained a clean sheet in all three games where Juan has found the net, highlighting the team's defensive solidity.

Manager Stoilov expressed his satisfaction after the Kasımpaşa victory, praising his team's tactical discipline and organization. "It was a very valuable victory for us because we played against a team with good players and a good coach," he said. "It was very important for me that we maintained our organization and tactical discipline throughout the 90 minutes." He emphasized the need for continued improvement in both organization and confidence.

Despite being invited to celebrate with the fans after the match, Stoilov respectfully declined, stating his preference for reserving such celebrations for the end of the season. "I have great respect for our fans and thank them," he explained. "I believe these celebrations should be between the players and the fans during the season. The time I'll go to the stands will be at the end of the season." His focus remains firmly on the ongoing process of building a successful and competitive team.
