Candace Owens Debate NO-SHOW Sparks Conservative CIVIL WAR! Fans Furious!
Current Affairs 05 December 2025

It seems like there's never a dull moment in the world of conservative politics, and the latest drama centers around Candace Owens. The conservative commentator is currently weathering a storm of criticism after she apparently no-showed a scheduled livestream debate with Turning Point USA's (TPUSA) Charlie Kirk. Now, I've seen political squabbles before, but this one has a particular sting to it, mainly because of Owens' own words.

The whole thing started when Owens made some pretty serious claims about TPUSA and its late founder, Charlie Kirk. Apparently, she alleged that Kirk had been "betrayed," which naturally ruffled some feathers over at TPUSA headquarters. What followed was, well, predictable. TPUSA's Blake Neff extended an invitation to Owens to hash things out on a livestream. Owens, never one to back down from a fight (or so it seemed), had previously declared she was ready to debate TPUSA leadership "any time, any place." It was bold, it was confident, and it set the stage for what many thought would be a no-holds-barred showdown.

But here's where things got interesting. Or, perhaps, predictable. When TPUSA actually scheduled the livestream, and without consulting Owens beforehand, she apparently balked, pushing back on the proposed logistics. And that's when the internet pounced. Social media exploded with accusations of hypocrisy. The hashtag #CandaceRunsScared started trending, and critics were quick to label her a "liar" and a "con artist" for allegedly dodging the debate she seemingly instigated. Ouch.

Look, I'm not going to pretend to know all the behind-the-scenes machinations that led to this point. Maybe there were legitimate scheduling conflicts, or perhaps Owens felt the terms weren't fair. But the optics are undeniably bad. When you publicly proclaim your willingness to debate "any time, any place," and then appear to back out when the opportunity arises, it's going to raise eyebrows. It's a test of consistency, and right now, Owens seems to be failing the test in the eyes of many. This whole episode highlights the growing rifts and internal power struggles within the conservative movement, a trend I think we'll be seeing more of in the coming months. It’s a reminder that even within seemingly unified political groups, there's always plenty of drama brewing under the surface.
