The availability of the SCT exemption

The availability of the SCT exemption applies to Renault models with at least 40% local content. This allows a diverse range of customers to benefit, from those seeking the comfort and efficiency of the Clio and Megane for urban driving, to those requiring the rugged versatility of the Duster SUV.

However, certain restrictions apply. Aras clarified that vehicles purchased with an SCT exemption are subject to a 10-year sales restriction. Should the owner choose to sell the vehicle before this period expires, the previously exempt SCT amount must be repaid. Furthermore, the rules regarding who can operate the vehicle depend on the degree of disability. For individuals with a disability rate of 90% or higher, the vehicle can be driven by their spouse, legal representative, or a designated driver certified by a notary. Those with a disability rate below 90% are restricted to driving the vehicle themselves.
