2026 World Cup Draw: Don't Miss the Action! Watch LIVE!
Movies & TV Series 05 December 2025

Alright football fanatics, mark your calendars! The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup is almost upon us, and it's shaping up to be quite the spectacle. On Friday, December 5th, 2025, at noon ET/9 a.m. PT, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., will host the final draw, determining the groups for what promises to be the biggest World Cup ever. Forty-two teams will be drawn into 12 groups of four, setting the stage for next year's tournament co-hosted by the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. This is where the dreams begin, and the road to glory (or heartbreak) gets paved.

The event promises more than just the procedural drawing of names from pots. FIFA President Gianni Infantino, known for his... let's say *cordial* relationship with the previous U.S. administration, will also be presenting the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize. Now, the rumor mill is churning overtime with speculation about who might receive this prestigious award. Some whispers even suggest a certain prominent figure might be in the running, especially after some... *interesting* reports surfaced over the summer about a trophy mishap. Make of that what you will! Regardless, it adds an extra layer of intrigue to an already highly anticipated event.

The draw itself will be conducted by none other than former England captain Rio Ferdinand, assisted by the ever-capable broadcaster Samantha Johnson. These two will be tasked with keeping the tension high and ensuring a smooth (and hopefully drama-free) process. Let's hope for no awkward gaffes or accidentally revealed names before their time!

So, how can you catch all the action live? For Spanish speakers, Telemundo and Telemundo Deportes will have you covered with pre-show coverage kicking off at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT. Across the pond, in the UK, BBC One and BBC iPlayer will be broadcasting the draw live starting at 5 p.m. GMT. Canadian viewers can tune in to TSN and their YouTube channel. And for those dedicated Aussie fans, be prepared for an early Saturday morning – SBS, SBS Viceland, and SBS On Demand will be your go-to sources. (Full list of international broadcasters can be found, well, elsewhere – but trust me, it's out there!).

Of course, the host countries (USA, Mexico, and Canada) automatically qualify, but the remaining 42 qualified teams span the globe, representing the best from Asia, Africa, CONCACAF, South America, Oceania, and Europe. However, the final six teams are still to be decided via playoffs, giving some underdogs one last chance to secure their place in the spotlight. We're talking about the likes of Albania, Bosnia, and even the possibility of a dark horse like Iraq making a surprise appearance. Those playoff games are shaping up to be nail-biters, and I, for one, can't wait to see who makes the cut. The World Cup is almost here folks and it's going to be a wild ride. Buckle up.
