Fortnite players, get ready for a possible paradigm shift! The battle royale landscape might be about to get a little…naughtier. Or at least, less nipple-averse. Players are buzzing, and rightfully so, over what appears to be a significant relaxation of Epic Games' long-standing policy against male nipples. Is Fortnite finally embracing the male form, areola and all?
Fortnite's SHOCKING Nipple Policy Change! What Doe...
The fuel for this speculation? Carter Wu. He's the new Chapter 7 battle pass skin, and boasts a shirtless style option that has players doing double-takes. Forget building forts; gamers are zooming in on Wu's chest, because, lo and behold, there's a clearly defined nipple. This marks a first, a genuine "holy moly" moment in the game's almost decade-long run. For years, Fortnite has been incredibly careful to avoid any depiction of nipples on its male characters. Now, seemingly, that's changed.
This development follows some previous rumblings, too. Remember the Homer Simpson skin? While initially dismissed as just another fun addition, keen-eyed players noticed two distinct dots on Homer’s chest beneath his iconic white underwear. Were these, dare we say it, subtle nipples? The speculation ran wild. Were they hinting at a potential sea change in Epic's policy? I remember thinking at the time that it was a weird inclusion, but maybe I was reading too much into it. Now, with Carter Wu, it seems those suspicions might have been valid.
The Homer situation was previously debated as a potential exception, maybe due to licensing constraints, or the character's cartoonish style made it easier to sneak them in. But this time, with Carter Wu, there is less room to maneuver. It's a deliberate choice, an outright nipple! It’s a stark contrast to the past, where a plethora of bare-chested characters, from Travis Scott and Kratos to Aang, John Cena, Goku, Drax, and even The Hulk, have graced the Fortnite island with suspiciously smooth, Ken-doll-esque torsos. Even user-generated content has adhered to this unspoken "no-nips" rule. Remember that promo crossover with a hair removal brand? The avatar had a chest as smooth as a baby's…well, you get the picture.
So, what does this all mean? Is this a one-off artistic choice, or are we witnessing a fundamental shift in Fortnite's character design philosophy? Only time will tell. But one thing's for sure: the Fortnite community is definitely paying attention, and the internet is buzzing with the news of the nipple revolution.
