A pivotal victory over then-No. 3 Oregon further solidified his Heisman candidacy, and his Week 11 heroics against Penn State, leading a game-winning drive in the final seconds, cemented his status as a top contender. Mendoza's ability to deliver in clutch moments, exemplified by his 5-of-9, 87-yard, one-touchdown performance in that final drive, has captured the attention of voters. Texas A&M's quarterback is having a strong season with over 2,000 passing yards and a combined 25 touchdowns. His performance in Week 11 against a ranked Missouri team, where he accounted for 250 total yards and two scores, showcased his dual-threat capabilities.

Vanderbilt's quarterback is also generating Heisman buzz, leading FBS in total offense with over 3,000 yards. His dynamic playmaking ability was on full display against Auburn in Week 11, where he threw for 377 yards and rushed for 112, contributing to four total touchdowns. He has been a key factor in the Commodores' surprising 8-2 record and their contention for a CFP spot.

Ohio State wide receiver, has also earned a mention. He has 65 receptions, 862 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns on the season. He racked up 137 yards through the air and a touchdown to help the Buckeyes secure the 34-10 victory.
