They point out that winter tires can reduce braking distances by as much as 10% on wet surfaces and a staggering 18% on cold surfaces. That's a potentially life-saving difference when you consider the unpredictable winter weather that can hit Turkey.

Interestingly, the rise of electric vehicles (EVs) is adding another layer to the winter tire conversation. Because EVs are generally heavier than their gasoline-powered counterparts, thanks to those hefty battery packs, they place different demands on tires. Experts are now urging EV owners to consider specialized winter tires designed specifically for the unique characteristics of electric vehicles. It's not just about slapping on any old winter tire; it's about ensuring you have the right equipment for the job.
