Alright horror fans, buckle up! The trailer for "Ready or Not 2: Here I Come" just dropped, and let me tell you, it looks absolutely insane. We're talking a serious escalation of the original's already bonkers premise. Spring 2026 feels like a lifetime away, but after seeing this sneak peek, I'm officially marking my calendar.
Ready or Not 2 Trailer SHOCKS Fans! What Horrors A...
For those who somehow missed the first film (seriously, go watch it!), "Ready or Not" followed Grace, played brilliantly by Samara Weaving, as she married into the obscenely wealthy and utterly deranged Le Domas family. Her wedding night took a decidedly dark turn when she was forced to play a deadly game of hide-and-seek. This sequel seems to be taking that concept and cranking it up to eleven.
Picking up where the original left us breathless, Grace is back, but this time, she's not just fighting for her own survival. She's got her estranged sister, Faith (Kathryn Newton), in tow, and the stakes are higher than ever. Apparently, escaping the Le Domas family was just the beginning. Now, Grace has to somehow navigate a world of rival families all vying for control of… wait for it… the High Seat of the Council, which apparently grants dominion over the entire world! Talk about an inheritance fight gone wrong.
The trailer is packed with over-the-top action, darkly comedic moments, and some seriously creepy imagery. We're talking cultish rituals, elaborate traps, and enough family drama to make your head spin. And the cast? Forget about it. Besides Weaving and Newton, we’ve got Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg (yes, THAT David Cronenberg!), Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, and Daniel Beirne. That's a whole lot of talent crammed into one movie, and I'm here for it.
Tripp Vinson, James Vanderbilt, William Sherak, and Bradley J. Fischer are back producing, which is great news. The writing team of Guy Busick & R. Christopher Murphy, who clearly have a knack for crafting twisted and thrilling narratives, are also returning. And perhaps most excitingly, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett, the masterminds behind the first film’s unique blend of horror and humor, are back in the director's chairs. They really nailed the tone of the original, so knowing they're steering the ship again gives me a lot of confidence.
Honestly, “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come” looks like it’s going to be a wild ride. The original was a surprisingly fresh and original take on the horror-comedy genre, and this sequel appears to be doubling down on everything that made it great. I'm ready to see Grace kick some serious butt and maybe, just maybe, finally find some peace. But knowing this franchise, I wouldn't bet on it.
