Galatasaray's hopes of an early return for Roland Sallai have been dashed. The Turkish Football Federation's (TFF) Board of Arbitration, or Tahkim Kurulu as it's known here, has officially rejected the club's appeal against the winger's two-match ban. This stems from that red card Sallai picked up in the recent Gençlerbirliği match, a decision that Galatasaray clearly felt was unjust.

The initial ruling, handed down by the PFDK (Professional Football Disciplinary Board), didn't sit well with the Sarı-Kırmızılılar. They swiftly lodged an appeal, hoping to get Sallai back on the pitch sooner rather than later. But, alas, it was not to be. The TFF made their announcement earlier today, confirming the bad news for Galatasaray fans. It’s a blow, no doubt, especially given Sallai's contribution to the team so far this season.

The TFF's official statement, posted on their website, was pretty straightforward. It stated, and I quote, "The appeal of Galatasaray A.Ş. concerning the PFDK's decision dated 27.11.2025 and numbered E.2025-2026/1716 - K.2025-2026/1808 regarding their player Roland Sallai was reviewed." In simpler terms, they looked at Galatasaray's arguments, considered the evidence, and ultimately decided they weren't convinced.

The statement continued, adding that, "Following deliberations, it was unanimously decided that the application be rejected and the decision upheld, as no inaccuracies were found in terms of evidence, legal characterization, or the determination of the penalty." Ouch. Basically, they're saying the PFDK got it right. The board explicitly cited Article 43 of the FDT (Football Disciplinary Regulations), which deals with serious fouls. So, it seems they felt Sallai's challenge warranted the red card and subsequent two-match suspension.

What does this mean for Galatasaray? Well, they’ll have to cope without Sallai for the next two games. While the team has plenty of depth, Sallai is a key player, offering pace and creativity in attack. Manager Okan Buruk will need to shuffle his pack and find a way to compensate for his absence.
