Citroen is clearly on a roll. Following the fresh designs of the C4 and C4 X, the French automaker has given the C5 Aircross a serious makeover. We've been anticipating this one for a while – our Italian team actually got a sneak peek last October. But now, the revamped SUV has officially landed in Turkey, and it's sporting some significant changes.

First things first, it's grown. The new C5 Aircross now measures 4.65 meters long, 1.9 meters wide, and 1.66 meters tall. That's a jump of about 15 centimeters, which has also stretched the wheelbase to a more generous 2.78 meters. While a few centimeters might not sound like much, it can make a real difference in both cabin space and overall road presence.

Of course, the redesign is the real eye-catcher. Citroen's current design language, which they've been steadily rolling out across their lineup, is now fully implemented on the C5 Aircross. The front end is definitely more assertive, showing off the brand's updated logo and a sharp-looking headlight and grille combo. Around back, you'll find a bolder version of Citroen's signature three-part taillights. Interestingly, the "Aircross" lettering has taken the place of the Citroen badge on the tailgate. I predict that change is going to be a bit divisive among the Citroen faithful. Some will love it, some will hate it – that’s just how these things go.

That longer wheelbase isn't just for show; it's allowed the designers to really open up the cabin. Initial impressions suggest a genuinely innovative interior. It borrows the steering wheel design from other recent Citroen models, but the C5 Aircross still maintains its own distinctive flair. A prominent 13.6-inch infotainment screen now sits vertically in the center console, and it's complemented by a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel behind the steering wheel. The overall effect is modern and, dare I say, a little bit futuristic.

All that added length pays dividends in the cargo area too. With the rear seats up, you get a respectable 650 liters of space. Fold down the 40:20:40 split-folding seats, and that expands to a cavernous 1,700 liters. It’s worth noting that the electric version doesn't include a front trunk, so that cargo space is all you get.

Built on the STLA Medium platform, the C5 Aircross shares its engine options with its cousins, the Opel Grandland and Peugeot 3008. The base engine is a 1.2-liter mild-hybrid producing 145 horsepower, paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. If you're looking for more power, there's also a plug-in hybrid variant that combines a 1.6-liter engine with an electric motor, delivering a total of 195 horsepower. The battery capacity has been bumped up to 21 kWh, which provides a fully electric range of up to 90 kilometers. That’s a decent range for daily commuting.

As for pricing here in Turkey, the 145-horsepower mild-hybrid C5 Aircross is available in Plus and Max trim levels, priced at ₺2,200,000 and ₺2,700,000 respectively as part of a launch campaign. The all-electric ë-C5 Aircross, with a 73 kWh battery pack and 157 kW (210 hp), is also offered in Plus and Max trim levels, costing ₺2,330,000 and ₺3,100,000 respectively. So, lots of choices for the modern car buyer.
