Big news in the sports broadcasting world! FOX Sports just dropped a bomb, announcing that Rebecca Lowe, a name synonymous with soccer coverage, will be joining their team as host for the FIFA World Cup 2026. This is a major get for FOX, solidifying their commitment to providing top-tier coverage of what's shaping up to be a truly historic tournament.

Rebecca Lowe Joins FOX Sports as FIFA World ...

The announcement came straight from Brad Zager, FOX Sports President of Production & Operations/Executive Producer. He didn't hold back his excitement, calling Lowe a "world-class presenter" and "one of the most respected and revered voices in the global soccer landscape." Strong words, but honestly, completely justified if you've ever watched her work.

And let's be honest, Lowe's resume speaks for itself. Before hopping over to FOX, she was a mainstay at NBC Sports, anchoring their Premier League coverage for years. Plus, she's got six Olympic Games and even the Kentucky Derby under her belt. That kind of versatility and experience is invaluable. Before NBC, she cut her teeth at the BBC in the UK, covering the 2006 World Cup and the UEFA Women's EURO 2005. So she's definitely seen it all.

Lowe herself sounds absolutely thrilled about the new gig. "To have the chance to host the FIFA World Cup — the greatest event on Earth — in my adopted home country and help to continue to spread the word of the beautiful game across the U.S. is truly a dream," she said in the press release. You can feel the genuine passion in her words, and that's exactly what you want in a host leading such a massive event.

FOX Sports is clearly pulling out all the stops for this World Cup. They're promising their "largest World Cup production to date," with all 104 matches broadcast live across FOX and FS1. And for those of us who prefer to stream, every single match will be available on FOX One and the FOX Sports App. Sixty-nine of those matches will be on FOX, more than double the number broadcast in 2022. Incredible!

This World Cup is going to be special for so many reasons. It's the first time three countries—the United States, Mexico, and Canada—are co-hosting, and it's the first to feature 48 teams battling it out across 16 host cities. As a soccer fan, I'm already buzzing with anticipation. Eleven U.S. cities will be in on the action. Mark your calendars, folks – June 11th to July 19th, 2026. It’s going to be a wild ride, and with Rebecca Lowe at the helm, FOX Sports is definitely setting themselves up for success.
