Diddy SLAMS Netflix CEO! Is a $50 Cent Lawsuit Next?!
Movies & TV Series 03 December 2025

Diddy is taking aim at Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos, not just rapper-turned-producer 50 Cent, in the escalating drama surrounding the new "Sean Combs: The Reckoning" documentary. Combs and his legal team are accusing Netflix of "corporate retribution" for Diddy allegedly refusing to "play by its rules," framing 50 Cent’s involvement as a calculated move to amplify the attack.

Diddy SLAMS Netflix CEO! Is a $50 Cent Lawsuit Nex...

A cease and desist letter, dated December 1st and addressed to Netflix's chief legal officer, David Hyman, spells out the Combs camp's grievances. The letter, obtained by several media outlets, argues that Netflix intentionally tapped 50 Cent – a known antagonist of Combs – to produce the four-part docuseries, which premiered today. "It also ensured that a flagrant act of corporate retribution against Mr. Combs would be re-cast as one famous black man attacking another," the letter states. Strong words, to say the least.

The accusation suggests Netflix saw 50 Cent's involvement as a way to inflict maximum damage, leveraging his well-documented animosity towards Combs. 50 Cent has indeed been relentless in his trolling, especially since Combs' arrest in September 2024 and the subsequent trial this past summer. He's publicly declared his intention to produce a documentary exposing Combs and even tried to sabotage any potential pardon from Donald Trump following Combs' conviction on lesser charges related to prostitution.

It’s undeniable that 50 Cent, while not appearing directly in "The Reckoning," is a lightning rod of controversy. His involvement certainly raises questions about the objectivity of the project. The "Power" franchise EP has practically built a career out of feuds, and his targeting of Diddy has been particularly intense. "After watching the series and now knowing what is in it, Sean’s team is reviewing its legal options and will decide shortly how best to respond,” Combs' representatives told Deadline, suggesting a lawsuit could be on the horizon.

Despite the fanfare surrounding its release, viewership numbers for "Sean Combs: The Reckoning" are currently under wraps. While it's unlikely to rival the popularity of a series like "Stranger Things," industry analysts predict the docuseries will likely crack Netflix's domestic Top 10 chart soon, with international rankings expected to follow next week. The real test, of course, will be whether it sparks meaningful conversation or simply adds fuel to the already raging fire surrounding Sean Combs.

This situation is rapidly evolving, and it seems destined to become more complicated. Beyond the current back-and-forth accusations, the potential for a full-blown legal battle with Netflix looms large, adding another layer of complexity to Combs' already substantial legal woes. He’s currently facing a barrage of civil suits alleging sexual assault, violence, and drugging. This Netflix situation could well be the straw that breaks the camel's back, legally speaking.
