Los Angeles' boutique talent agency scene just got a shake-up. Greene Talent, a name familiar to many in the industry, is officially rebranding as Artium Talent. This isn't just a fresh coat of paint; it marks a significant shift in ownership, with partners Azeem Chiba, Ethan Salter, and Kiernan McCaffrey now at the helm.
**Talent Agency SHAKE-UP! Greene Talent's Shocking...
The change comes after Michael Greene, the agency's founder, stepped down last month, as reported by Deadline. I've personally known Michael for a few years, and he always struck me as a guy with a strong vision. Now, it seems, he's passing the torch – or perhaps, more accurately, the agency – to the next generation. This formalizes the transition that began in 2023 when Chiba, Salter, and McCaffrey became equal partners.
So, what do these new owners bring to the table? Well, quite a lot, actually. Collectively, Chiba, Salter, and McCaffrey boast over 50 years of industry experience. Chiba's journey started at the Special Artists Agency, followed by a stint at the Susan Smith Company, before landing at Greene Talent. McCaffrey emphasized Chiba's crucial role in shaping the company's success over his impressive 27-year tenure.
Salter's path is equally interesting. He cut his teeth in the legendary Endeavor mailroom – a rite of passage for many aspiring agents – before working in both the talent and literary departments. He then helped build Management 360 from the ground up. What brought him back to agenting, he says, was his "passion for developing artists." He then joined Henderson Hogan before his 15-year career at Greene Talent.
And then there's McCaffrey. He's a bit of a Greene Talent success story, having started at the company at just 18 years old. Over 17 years, he worked his way up, proving his dedication and eventually becoming a full agent in 2017. Salter describes him as "a trusted leader and a key architect of the company’s enduring success," which speaks volumes about his impact. It's always great to see someone rise through the ranks like that, you know? It gives hope to us all.
It will be interesting to watch how Artium Talent evolves under this new leadership. With a solid foundation built by Greene and a fresh perspective from Chiba, Salter, and McCaffrey, the agency is poised for a new chapter. The name may be different, but the ambition, hopefully, remains the same.
