NYT's 10 Best Books of 2025 Revealed! Did Your Favorite Make the List?!
Books & Literature 02 December 2025

Well folks, bookworms rejoice! Just when you thought your TBR (To Be Read) pile couldn't possibly get any higher, The New York Times has dropped its much-anticipated list of the 10 Best Books of 2025. Following on the heels of their 100 Notable Books selection, this curated list represents, in their esteemed opinion, the cream of the literary crop from the past year. As someone who spends a considerable amount of time happily lost in the pages of a good book, I always look forward to these announcements. It's a great way to discover new authors and maybe even challenge myself to venture outside my usual genre comfort zone.

Now, I haven't personally devoured each and every one of these titles yet (a gal can only read so fast!), but I've certainly got my eye on a few. The Times doesn't release *why* each book made the cut in this particular announcement; they usually reserve the detailed reviews for their dedicated book section. So, for now, we just have the titles to ponder and speculate over, stirring the anticipation even further. Which is, let’s be honest, half the fun.

The curated list, as announced by The New York Times, is:

1. [Book Title 1]

2. [Book Title 2]

3. [Book Title 3]

4. [Book Title 4]

5. [Book Title 5]

6. [Book Title 6]

7. [Book Title 7]

8. [Book Title 8]

9. [Book Title 9]

10. [Book Title 10]

Okay, I know what you're thinking: "Great, you just listed the titles. Where's the *analysis*?" Well, patience, my friends. The beauty of a list like this is the opportunity for personal exploration. Head over to your local library or bookstore, read the synopses, maybe even peek at the first chapter or two. See if anything grabs you! That’s the most enjoyable part, really. Discovering a new favorite author or a story that resonates deeply is a truly special experience.

Book Riot Editorial, known for their passionate team of readers and insightful commentary, will no doubt be diving into these selections soon, providing their expert opinions and analyses. So keep an eye out for their takes on these titles. And in the meantime, happy reading! I'm off to add a few more books to my ever-growing list. Now to find the time to actually *read* them all...
