Aishah Hasnie's SHOCKING Rise: What Does This Mean for Fox News?

Big news out of Fox News Media: Aishah Hasnie is stepping into a significantly expanded role at the network. She's been tapped to anchor a Saturday afternoon program and will also be taking on White House correspondent duties. This is a pretty significant promotion for Hasnie, who has steadily climbed the ranks since joining Fox in 2019.

Aishah Hasnie's SHOCKING Rise: What Does This Mean...

The new Saturday show, slated to run from noon to 2 p.m. ET, will debut on January 10th. Hasnie's White House responsibilities begin immediately. This dual role will undoubtedly put her in the spotlight, covering both breaking news from the White House and shaping the narrative on her own program.

Since joining Fox News, Hasnie has been a senior national correspondent and a congressional correspondent. Before that, she was based in New York as a correspondent, covering a wide range of national stories. Her resume boasts some impressive interviews, including sit-downs with Donald Trump during his campaign, German Chancellor Friedreich Merz, and the Taiwanese Ambassador Alexander Yui. Plus, she's been on the front lines of two presidential elections, 2020 and 2024, bringing viewers all the key developments.

And it hasn't just been elections. Hasnie’s recent coverage includes the nail-biting government shutdown and the chaotic vote that ultimately landed Mike Johnson the Speaker of the House gavel in 2023. You could feel the tension in the air during those reports, so she’s definitely experienced with high-pressure situations.

Before Fox, Hasnie honed her skills in local news. She was an anchor and investigative reporter at WXIN-TV, the Fox affiliate in Indianapolis, where she helmed the 4 p.m. newscast. Before that, she was at CBS affiliate WANE-TV in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she served as an investigative reporter and even filled in as an anchor. Interestingly, her career started at GEO-TV, an international network based in Pakistan, which is her birth country. That gives her a really unique perspective, I think, bringing a broader understanding of global issues to her reporting.

Jay Wallace, president and executive editor of Fox News, seems pretty excited about the move. “Aishah’s knowledge of Washington makes her a perfect addition to our stellar White House team of correspondents, and we are confident she will excel in the anchor chair as well,” he said in a statement. It's a vote of confidence, for sure. We'll be watching to see how she navigates this expanded role. It sounds like a very exciting opportunity for her.
