More than that, she also co-anchored "The Ten," a program known for its looser, more conversational style and its emphasis on live interviews. That experience with unscripted formats is going to be invaluable in the fast-paced world of live news.

During her time in Dallas, Battah proved her mettle by anchoring coverage of major breaking news events. Back in 2018, she even received a Lone Star Emmy nomination for her team's coverage of a truly bizarre incident: a pickup truck intentionally crashing into the television station during a morning newscast, followed by a live bomb squad investigation! Talk about a baptism by fire. Before Dallas, she honed her skills in Bakersfield, California, and Columbia, Missouri. A graduate of the University of Missouri’s School of Journalism, she even started her career covering the state legislature for Missouri Digital News. She’s clearly put in the work to get where she is today, and this new role at ABC is a well-deserved step up.
