Witcher Fans Stunned! CD Projekt Red's Bold 6-Year Plan Revealed!
Gaming News 01 December 2025

The gaming world is buzzing, and not just with holiday cheer. CD Projekt Red, the wizards behind the beloved Witcher series, have once again confirmed their rather audacious plan: a brand new Witcher trilogy within a mere six years. That’s right, a trilogy, not just a single game. While we’re still patiently (or impatiently, depending on who you ask) awaiting the release of the game currently dubbed "The Witcher 4" (or Polaris, internally), the company is doubling down on its commitment.

Witcher Fans Stunned! CD Projekt Red's Bold 6-Year...

According to a recent report from Eurogamer, during a financial call, CD Projekt Red reaffirmed this ambitious timeline. Now, I know what you're thinking: six years for *three* AAA titles? That's quite a feat. And honestly, a little hard to believe given the scope of their previous games.

Co-CEO Michal Nowakowski seems to think it's feasible, pinning some of that hope on the shift to Unreal Engine 5. "In a way, yes, I do believe that further games should be delivered in a shorter period of time," Nowakowski stated. He reiterated the plan: launching the entire trilogy within that six-year window. This, of course, hinges on a quicker turnaround between The Witcher 4 and its subsequent sequels. It’s a bold statement, considering the development cycle of previous titles.

The six-year clock starts ticking the moment The Witcher 4 finally graces our screens. Adam Kicinski, another co-CEO, initially mentioned this plan way back in 2022. Given the current best estimates, we aren’t likely to see "The Witcher 4" before 2027. Crunch the numbers, and if that holds true, we could be looking at "The Witcher 5" in 2030 and "The Witcher 6" in 2033. It all feels a bit like science fiction at this point, doesn't it?

CD Projekt Red clearly believes that Unreal Engine 5 will streamline the development process for the later entries. This remains to be seen, of course. Game development is notoriously unpredictable. Remember Cyberpunk 2077's launch? We all do. Here's hoping they've learned some valuable lessons about managing expectations and polishing games before release. A rushed Witcher trilogy wouldn't do anyone any favors.

So, while the promise of more Witcher adventures is undoubtedly exciting, don't hold your breath for a sneak peek at The Game Awards later this month. It seems we'll have to wait a bit longer for tangible news. The wait continues, but the dream of a new Witcher saga lives on.
