It's always a good day when you hear positive news about anti-cheat efforts in online games, and Battlefield 6 seems to be doing alright. Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios are patting themselves on the back – rightfully so, it seems – for their anti-cheat measures. In a recent blog post, they've claimed that a tiny percentage of matches have actually been plagued by cheaters after launch.
Battlefield 6 Cheater-Free? The SHOCKING Truth Rev...
They're saying that approximately 98% of games are essentially cheat-free. That's a pretty significant number. Apparently, the open beta proved incredibly useful, feeding the anti-cheat system with crucial data. EA's boasting about blocking over 1.2 million cheat attempts, which is, frankly, staggering.
Another interesting statistic is the jump in Secure Boot adoption among players. It went from 62.5 percent to a very impressive 92.5 percent. Now, Secure Boot wasn't exactly smooth sailing for everyone, I remember some folks having real headaches getting it working. Still, it's undeniable that it's become a pretty vital piece of the anti-cheat puzzle for Battlefield 6.
The fight never ends, of course. EA says they've now blocked over 2.39 million cheat attempts. What’s a little concerning, though, is the 1.5 percent of players still struggling to enable Secure Boot. Imagine buying a game and then being locked out because of a technical hurdle – not a great experience, even if it's for the greater good. Hopefully, they can find a solution to help those players get in the game.
And here's a stat that's genuinely satisfying: EA has identified a whopping 190 cheat programs, hardware vendors, and resellers. And get this, 96.3 percent of them are apparently having issues. We're talking feature failures, detection notices, the whole shebang. Some have even been forced to pull their cheats offline. That's a win in my book.
EA is promising to keep refining its anti-cheat system, acknowledging that it's a constant back-and-forth with the bad actors. Look, no system is ever going to be perfect, that’s a given. But based on these numbers, it seems like Battlefield 6 is offering a mostly fair and enjoyable online experience right now. Let's hope they can keep the momentum going, because a cheat-free game is a fun game.
