So, what exactly is Lim accused of? The core allegation is his involvement in the apparent overturning of the preliminary investigation results into the death of Corporal Chae Su-geun. Cpl. Chae tragically died during a search mission for victims of torrential rains in July of 2023. It's alleged that Lim attended a meeting where he briefed then-President Yoon on the initial findings of the probe, which pointed to a senior Marine commander bearing responsibility for Chae's death.
